Locations

Our conference venue, the Palace of Fine Arts, is located on Marina District on 3301 Lyon Street, near the Golden Gate Bridge waterfront. The area is one of San Francisco’s most beautiful areas, with breathtaking views of the bridge and Alcatraz Island. Parking spots are limited (ca. 80 spots), so we definitely recommend public transportation or coming by a Lyft, taxi, Sidecar, and Carma. Our workshop venue will be The San Francisco State University — Downtown Campus, really close to Powell St. BART/MUNI Metro Station. For any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Amanda — she’ll make sure to assist you with any questions.

Workshops: SF State University — Downtown Campus

SFSU_CEL2

The Downtown Campus of San Francisco State University is unlike any campus we've seen before. This unique campus takes place on the 6th floor of the Westfield San Francsico Centre, with all classrooms configured around a vertical glass-enclosed atrium that offers wonderful views in all directions from the historic sky-lit dome, across to adjoining classrooms and below to shopping activity.

Parking Tips

We’re expecting another full house at this year’s event so use public transportation or carpool if possible.

The best (and most free) place to find parking near the Palace of Fine Arts is right in their lot on 3399 Lyon Street. It does get pretty filled up, so make sure to arrive early enough to have your pick of spaces.

The Marina is one of the more upscale neighborhoods in the city, so parking in residential areas can be tricky. However, you can check real-time meter availability in the areas of Chestnut and Lombard Streets, just a short hike away from the action. You’ll notice that the streets that are green will yield high probability of finding a space, and ones that are red will prove trickier.

Getting There Taking BART or Muni

Since parking lots are always limited, we definitely recommend getting to the Palace of Fine Arts by public transportation. You can take San Francisco Muni buses #28, #29, #30, or #43. Buses #22, #41, and #45 also stop in the nearby vicinity. From Fisherman’s Wharf take the #30 Stockton bus which drops you right at the entrance.

If you’re coming in through the SFO airport, you can also hop on a BART train and getting off at the Montgomery Street station. Walk a half block up to Market and Third Street, then take the #30 Stockton bus straight to the Palace of Fine Arts.

The BART station at SFO is located in the International Terminal, a short walk from United Airlines in Terminal 3 and a slightly longer walk from Terminal 1 (you can also take the free AirTrain to get to the BART station). The BART ride from SFO to San Francisco downtown costs $8.65 one-way and runs frequently, every 15 or 20 minutes. Ticket machines accept cash and debit cards and the ride takes approximately 30 minutes.
